At Eco Green Boutique Hotel Cafe... They are out of pumpkin soup so ordered the potato soup instead, the only other option here soup-wise. Have never had potato soup...

Very unsettled weather here. Right now the sky is a grey-ish blanket overhead and as I was walking a light sprinkle of rain felt like teeny tiny sparks on my...

Some photos from my afternoon walk along the beach and the promenade. Lovely day here at about 26c. I even found a stretch of sand that "sang" as I walked...

The little 3-legged neighbourhood dog. I forget his name but he is super cute and very lucky as the owner rescued it from a village in the mountains somewhere after it got its leg caught in an animal trap. Poor little thing...poor any animal that gets caught in a trap...but at least now it's safe and well taken care of. He gets around extremely well despite loss of much of its leg!

Trying to decide if I want the creamy but hot "pumpkin soup" or a cold "healthy dessert jar" (fresh yogurt, fruits, and seeds) for brunch. Both are delicious. It's 23c here and overcast so almost feels a little chilly to this now somewhat acclimatised Canadian. I even have a sweater on...a lightweight one mind you

The little Macaques at the beginning of video were just babies, and much smaller than appear in this video as I was zoomed in. Macaques of all ages have the sweetest little "wizened" faces...and just full of play! Sooo fun to watch all their antics! I could watch them all day and day after day I'm sure.

Some photos of scenery from up on beautiful and wild Son Tra mountain. It was also known as "Monkey Mountain" by American soldiers during the war and had a communications facility on it as it is very close to Da Nang airfield which was used heavily by the US in the 60s and up to the mid 70s. So very glad that whole horror show is over and this jungle mountain has since become a protected national reserve.

25 degrees C at 10:10 AM. This morning started out as quite clear and with glints of sunshine even, but a wall of heavy rain has just moved in from the direction of the sea. Funny how it comes and then goes so quickly here. I had my balcony door wide open but then had to close as the rain hits the tiles of the balcony floor so hard that they spray into my room quite a distance. My floor in my room is polished hardwood and gets quite slippery when wet, plus not so nice to walk on barefoot, so I try to keep it dry. And speaking of barefoot, here one never goes into a home (or even some businesses) with shoes on.

It is raining quite heavy on and off and the heavy thick clouds blanketed overhead match the colours of the varying tones of greys and whites of the cityscape within my view.

Some observations as I sit at the lovely outdoor cafe/restaurant of my hotel: although this is winter season here, it is 27 degrees today (celsius), and while not so many flowers in blossom as there would/will be in spring and summer season, there is still alot of lush natural greenery everywhere I can see. There are alot more tourists here in this part of the city where I am, than when I was here last time about 6 mths ago (between covid border restrictions and the area of town I was in then, I was one of very few tourists).
