🌍 Duties/Tariffs & Taxes

We’re a small business based in Montreal, Canada, and we’re so grateful for your support! 🩵

Here’s what to expect when it comes to shipping and possible duties/taxes:

Canada

  • Sales tax is automatically added at checkout.

  • No additional fees will be charged upon delivery.

USA

  • Cabanas: Ship from within the USA – no duties or tariffs.

  • Other products: Ship from Canada and may be subject to duties.

  • Note: As of August 1, the U.S. government has introduced a 35% blanket tariff on all Canadian imports (replacing the 25% tariff from February). These changes make it difficult to predict any additional charges you might incur at delivery.

Europe & UK

  • Duties and/or VAT may be charged by your local customs office.

  • Because we’re based in Canada, we’re unable to charge or remit UK/EU VAT at checkout.

Australia

  • No duties are expected on orders under $1,000 AUD.

All Other Countries

  • Duties, taxes, or VAT may be charged before delivery. Please check your country’s import regulations.

Why am I being charged duties or taxes?

If your country collects tax or VAT in stores, it’s likely you’ll need to pay the same on online purchases before delivery. These charges are set by your local government, not by us, and we have no way to include or waive them.

Tip: In Canada, we pay sales tax on top of purchase prices too – we understand it’s frustrating, especially in countries where VAT is typically included in prices.

Returns due to unpaid duties/taxes

Any orders returned to us because duties, tariffs, or VAT were not paid will not be eligible for a refund.
