All orders ship from our studio in Montreal. Our products are manufactured in China & India by our wonderful production partners. Suniela Beach is a small business and we appreciate your support!
Any duties &/or taxes charged are the responsibility of the customer. If tax/VAT are charged in physical stores of your home country, then you will likely have to pay tax/VAT for your online purchases when they arrive to your country - before delivery. This is beyond our control and varies globally.
Canada: Sales tax is charged automatically at checkout, no further fees will be incurred
Australia: No duties should be incurred on order values under $1000 AUD.
Europe & UK: The courier company will charge you VAT before delivery, as our prices do not include taxes. Please check your government websites to know if you'll be charged duties in addition to VAT for your online orders, as this varies by country.
USA:
Beginning Feb 17 2025: Online prices have been updated to include Duties/Tariffs. You won't have to pay anything extra when your order is delivered.
Many of our products are made in China - despite being shipped from our studio in Montreal - and therefore are being subjected to tariffs. Our packable chairs are not available for US customers at this time, as they are subjected to 30%+ tariffs. If you're willing to pay this extra charge, please reach out to us at beachlife@suniela.com and we can make the chairs available to you.
New Customs Clearance Requirements: Please keep an eye on your government websites to stay up-to-date on the current tariff situation. We will do our best to update information here as it becomes available but things are changing often, so we can't guarantee full up-to-date accuracy of the below. Further. the US administration is threatening an additional 25% tariff on products sent from Canada, starting in March. If this happens, we regret that won't be able to absorb the cost.
• All Made-in-China products now require formal entry into the U.S.
• This means additional paperwork, customs declarations, and longer processing times at the border.
2. Duties and Tariffs Now Apply
• Previously, small shipments under $800 USD could enter the U.S. duty-free under Section 321.
• Now, affected shipments will be subject to 10-30% import duties and tariffs, depending on product category. As stated above, starting Feb 17 2025 these charges are included in your purchase price.
3. Potential Shipping Delays
• Increased customs processing may lead to longer transit times for Made-in-China products.
• We recommend planning ahead for possible disruptions and extended clearance times.
All other countries: Please check with your government website regarding tax/vat/duties for online purchases.
*Any items returned to Suniela Beach due to nonpayment of duties/tariffs and/or taxes/VAT will not be entitled to a refund. This includes US orders placed before February 17, 2025.
