Canada

  • Orders ship from Montreal.

  • Regular Canadian sales tax is collected at checkout.

  • No duties will be charged on delivery.

Australia & New Zealand

  • No duties or taxes are owing on delivery.

United States

  • Duties, taxes, and any applicable tariffs are included in the price.

  • No extra charges upon delivery

Rest of World

  • Duties, taxes, and any applicable tariffs are calculated at checkout based on your shipping address.

  • You pay them upfront, so nothing is owed upon delivery.

Wait - are these the tariffs I keep hearing about?

When a package crosses an international border, your government collects import duties, taxes, or tariffs on goods entering the country. These charges are set entirely by customs authorities, completely separate from what you paid us. We're the people who designed your beach gear, packed it with care, and sent it on its way. The import fees are a separate matter between you and your government's customs office.

Here in Canada, and across the UK and Europe, import duties and taxes have been part of everyday cross-border shopping for a very long time. We've grown to expect them as just part of shopping online. For many of our American customers, this is newer territory. Recent changes to US import policy mean that goods crossing the border are now subject to duties and tariffs that weren't always applied to smaller orders before. We want you to know exactly what you're paying and why.

A few things worth knowing:

  • We do not set these fees and have no control over what your government charges or how rates may change over time.

  • Rates vary based on product type, declared value, country of manufacture, and your country's current import regulations.

  • Duties, taxes, and tariffs are the sole responsibility of the customer. By placing an order with Suniela Beach, you agree to pay any applicable import fees required for customs clearance in your country.

  • Orders returned to us due to unpaid duties or taxes are not eligible for a refund. If your package is seized or returned because import charges went unpaid, we are unfortunately unable to issue a refund on that order. 

We wish these charges didn't exist either. We deal with import fees on our own end too, and we know it stings.
