At Eco Green Boutique Hotel Cafe...   They are out of pumpkin soup so ordered the potato soup instead, the only other option here soup-wise. Have never had potato soup...

My beautiful family here.  Da Nang, Vietnam  Some sights from a walk this afternoon and into the early evening.  Image: I found out who owns the beautiful bird that flies free...

White and yellow frangipani flowers

Very unsettled weather here. Right now the sky is a grey-ish blanket overhead and as I was walking a light sprinkle of rain felt like teeny tiny sparks on my...

Beach boardwalk views, palm trees and subway entrance in Da Nang, Vietnam

Cute black dog with only 3 legs, wearing a pink t-shirt

Vietnam: 13

The little 3-legged neighbourhood dog. I forget his name but he is super cute and very lucky as the owner rescued it from a village in the mountains somewhere after it got its leg caught in an animal trap. Poor little thing...poor any animal that gets caught in a trap...but at least now it's safe and well taken care of. He gets around extremely well despite loss of much of its leg!

A hot coffee on a patio of a restaurant in Da Nang, Vietnam

Vietnam: 12

Trying to decide if I want the creamy but hot "pumpkin soup" or a cold "healthy dessert jar" (fresh yogurt, fruits, and seeds) for brunch. Both are delicious. It's 23c here and overcast so almost feels a little chilly to this now somewhat acclimatised Canadian. I even have a sweater on...a lightweight one mind you

A Macaque monkey walks on a rock at the top of Son Tra Mountain in Vietnam. There are a couple tall trees behind the rock, with the sea in the background

Vietnam: 11

The little Macaques at the beginning of video were just babies, and much smaller than appear in this video as I was zoomed in. Macaques of all ages have the sweetest little "wizened" faces...and just full of play! Sooo fun to watch all their antics! I could watch them all day and day after day I'm sure.

Coastal view from Son Tra Mountain in Vietnam

Vietnam: 10

Some photos of scenery from up on beautiful and wild Son Tra mountain. It was also known as "Monkey Mountain" by American soldiers during the war and had a communications facility on it as it is very close to Da Nang airfield which was used heavily by the US in the 60s and up to the mid 70s. So very glad that whole horror show is over and this jungle mountain has since become a protected national reserve.

Son Tra Mountain Range in Vietnam

Vietnam: 9

My son took me by scooter yesterday afternoon on a very steep and winding road high up into the dark and misty-topped jungley mountains of Son Tra. It was absolutely wonderful with blue sky and sunshine for much of it.

Chua Phap Hoi Buddhist Temple in Vietnam

Vietnam: 8

This is Chua Phap Hoi Buddhist temple, where I went the other day. I just felt a need to pray in some sacred place for a friend who is in great distress as well as for all others who may be. While I am not Buddhist, I do align with much of what that spirituality is about. Had I not been staying in a city right now I'd have gone to the forest as any wilderness area is my true sacred place...my cathedral...and I would have prayed there

Beach boardwalk in Da Nang Vietnam

Vietnam: 7

Well I just moved from my hotel and into my new apartment! As lovely and very reasonably priced as the hotel was...at about 35 bucks CAD a night...I am on less of a budget than that.
